An armed person is on the loose in a Queensland suburb forcing police to lockdown a neighbourhood for eight hours.

An emergency declaration was made under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) due to an unfolding incident in the inland town of Warwick.

Police are currently conducting emergency operations in the area and requesting members of the public and aircraft to not attend the declared location.
