Police have locked down streets in Brisbane’s south while a siege is taking place.

An emergency declaration was made under the Public Safety Preservation act at 1:13pm on Friday after officers attended an address in Bradman Street in Sunnybank Hills in relation to a welfare check.

“A man and woman are inside the house and police negotiators are on scene,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

“People located within the PSPA zone, residents or businesses, must stay inside their buildings until further advised.”

Roads are closed on Bradman Street between Bellrick and Peterkin Streets to all pedestrian and vehicle traffic and several houses on Morden Street are effected in the area.
