Telstra has been crippled by a major network outage overnight, with some customers unable to make or receive phone calls for about ten hours.
The e company has issued an alert on it’s website informing customers that they are working to resolve an issue that occurred on Monday night.
“We‘re sorry for the late night hassle for our customers,” the alert read.

Incident reports registered on independent outage tracker Down Detector suggest the outage started at about 10pm.
A heat map shows that the reports are concentrated heavily around major cities including Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney Brisbane.
A Telstra spokesperson said they are working to fix an issue that occurred overnight that means some mobile customers cannot make calls.

They have assured customers that mobile data is not affected and emergency calls to triple-0 can still be made.
“We‘re sorry for the impact to the start of people’s day and are working urgently to fix the issue,” the spokesperson said.

If customers are experiencing issues, they recommend they switch aeroplane mode on and off or try making a data call using Wi-Fi calling or other apps such as FaceTime.
