Sydney’s iconic New Year’s Eve fireworks show is expected to draw thousands of people to the harbourside to ring in 2023.
Fortunato Foti of Foti Fireworks told reporters on Thursday he was busy preparing the fireworks display ahead of Saturday’s festivities.
There are always two fireworks displays on New Year’s Eve – a family-friendly matinee at 9pm and the main event at midnight as the new year begins.
Here are all the places you can catch both fireworks displays.

At Darling Harbour, Cyren, Cohibar, Criniti’s, Olivo restaurant, scotch & co and Zaaffran all have harbourside views with a front-row seat in which to view the action.
Entries are still open for a chance to ride on a private gondola in the Darling Harbour Ferris Wheel during the 9pm or midnight fireworks.
All you have to do is comment with a ferris wheel emoji under the competition post on either the Facebook or Instagram Darling Harbour accounts before 11.59pm on December 29 for your chance to win.
If you want to catch the fireworks from Darling Harbour for free, a limited capacity area will be open from 1pm.
