An international student is fighting for life after he was allegedly attacked in his own home during an alleged aggravated burglary.
Police rushed to a home on Trower Rd in Millner in Darwin’s north just before 4:30am on Wednesday after reports a man had allegedly broken into the property.
The 23-year-old student at Charles Darwin University (CDU) was found by flatmates in a pool of his own blood, NT News reported.

Police confirmed the young man suffered “significant injuries” in the home before he was rushed to Royal Darwin Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
General duties arrested a 29-year-old man in a vehicle in the area shortly after the incident occurs.
He remains in custody but no charges have been laid as investigations continue.
The CDU community was shocked by the news according to the university’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Scott Bowman.
“So, when we hear about incidences of violence that involves our students it impacts the whole CDU community,” Professor Bowman said in a statement.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with family and friends at this very difficult time.”
Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the surrounding areas, especially if you have CCTV, is urged to contact police on 131 444.
