Home of alleged torturer goes up in flames

The home of an alleged teen torturer has burned to the ground, days after a video was shared online of the horrifying ordeal.

Police were called to the Tewantin home where it is alleged a group of teenage girls tortured another girl for four hours following reports the home had gone up in flames.

The 13-year-old teenage girl was allegedly tied up, cut, burnt and hit with bottles while at a sleepover on March 11.

About 1.30am, emergency services rushed to the home which police say was “engulfed in flames”.

No one was inside the home at the time of the blaze and no injuries have been reported.

A crime scene has been declared and police are waiting for the scene to be declared safe before they send in investigators to examine.

There is no suggestion of involvement or wrongdoing by the family of the alleged torturers or the alleged victim.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has dashcam or CCTV from the surrounding area, is urged to contact police.
