A former teacher has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault allegedly committed over 30 years ago in Sydney’s north.
A 68-year-old man has been charged with 12 offences over reports of multiple sexual assaults which are alleged to have occurred at a public school in St Ives between 1984 and 1988.
Strike Force Byanbi was established in June 2022 to look into the allegations and following inquiries the man was arrested at a home in Wagga Wagga on Wednesday.

He was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station and charged with 12 offences, including seven counts of sexual assault (Cat 4) – assault and commit act of indecency, three counts of homosexual intercourse – teacher of pupil, and two counts of buggery.
Police will allege in court that the man sexually assaulted three boys – who were aged between nine and 12 years old at the time – while they were under his authority as a teacher at the school and during camping trips.
He appeared in Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday where he was formally refused bail to appear at the same court in April.
