Travellers at Canberra airport are facing major delays after the airspace was closed temporarily.
Early flights were unable to take off and limited flights arrived on the tarmac on Thursday morning.
The early morning disruption was due to a technical issue which was resolved just before 9am, the Canberra Times reports.
Just two of the 10 flights that were scheduled to depart before 9am have made it into the air with delays expected to carry through into the morning as the backlog is cleared.

It’s unclear what’s caused the disruption.
Two flights have departed … Linkairways to Wollongong and Sydney.
Qantas has cancelled 2 flights to Sydney.

A passenger shared his frustration at the delays on social media saying it looked like a long wait ahead.
“Looking like a long day, Canberra airport currently closed due to no radar…,” he tweeted just before 7am.
