A Wollongong couple have started the week as millionaires after they won the lotto twice in one week.
The husband and wife who live in Dapto were overjoyed when they realised they had won not once, but twice after the husband revealed he purchased the same entry twice.
“It’s actually a funny story as to why we ended up with the same entry twice,” the man told The Lott when an official called to confirm the double win.
“I forgot to put my wife’s numbers on last week, and she wasn’t too happy with me.

“So, this week I thought I’d put them on twice to make up for it.
“This morning she kept crossing off number after number on her ticket, and once we realised we’d won $1 million on one ticket, I thought I should probably tell her about the second identical ticket too.”
Incredibly, his wife has played the same numbers for almost three decades.
“I can’t believe this has happened to us,” he said.

The couple are now $2 million richer and said the could not wait to create generational wealth for their family.
“My mind is racing with all the things I can do for my family,” the woman said.
“I can buy my daughter a house. I can set up the children and grandchildren for the future.
“Once we’ve done that, then we can enjoy whatever is left. I’d love to travel around Australia and see all the parts of our country I haven’t seen.”
The division one winning entries were purchased at Dapto Newsagency and newsXpress Dapto.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4268 on Monday 13 March 2023 were 29, 44, 4, 18, 35 and 45, while the supplementary numbers were 10 and 32.
