Police bodycam footage has captured the moment an alleged hidden replica handgun is pulled from a ute, following an alleged attempted robbery of a Gold Coast business at gunpoint.
Three men have now been charged with multiple offences following Saturday’s alleged incident in Coomera and will face court on Monday.
In the heavily blurred footage, released by Queensland Police, the officer conducting the traffic stop along Yawalpah Way is seen shining a torch into the ute that same night.
Police allegedly located the replica handgun in a ute on Yawalpah Way after the alleged armed robbery in Coomera on Saturday.
“I’ve had an incident involving a vehicle with a partial rego that matches yours, do you understand me?” The officer is heard saying.
“And it involves a firearm. So make sure you keep your hands where I can see them, otherwise I will be very less than impressed.”
The officer is seen retrieving the alleged replica weapon and inspecting it before the man is loaded into a waiting police car.
Police allege the attempted armed robbery occurred when three men entered a Celestial Way business at 8.20pm on Saturday.
Three men have been charged with a raft of offences, including armed robbery.
One of the men allegedly pointed a firearm at staff while demanding money.
It is further alleged the trio damaged property before physically assaulting another staff member, then fleeing in a vehicle.
A 27-year-old Inala man, a 39-year-old Hillcrest man and a 26-year-old Dinmore man have all been charged with stealing, enter premises with intent, attempted armed robbery and assault occasioning bodily harm while armed and in company
All three will appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
