Boy, 11, hit by train during peak hour

A child has been struck by a train during the busy morning commute.

Just before 8.15am on Tuesday, police and emergency services were called to the Tambelin Railway Station in Adelaide after reports an 11-year-old boy had been struck by a train.

SA Ambulance Service told NCA NewsWire the boy suffered head injuries and was being transported to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Services along the Gawler train line between Elizabeth and Gawler have been halted.

SA Police have advised Clark Road along the railway has been shut and commuters should avoid the area.

Emergency services are still on the scene.

The child’s condition is not yet known.
