Body located in search for missing boy

A body has been located during a search for a teenage boy who went missing while swimming in the Hawkesbury River in NSW.

At around 12pm on Wednesday, emergency services attended a scene on the Hawkesbury River in Windsor after receiving reports a swimmer had gone missing.

On arrival, responders were informed the missing person was a 16-year-old boy who had been swimming in the river and was yet to be located.

Specialist police, including PolAir, attended the scene to aid in an extensive search of the area.

Police divers, NSW SES and the Toll NSW Ambulance Aeromedical service were also at the scene during the search.

A body was located at about 4.20pm.

While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the missing 16-year-old boy.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police will repair a report for the coroner.
